How to properly ground dust collection system? I use the clear dust hose with metal wire support and have experienced no static build up. If I needed to ground the dust hose, I would just run a wire from the hose to the dust collector and let the normal machine grounding do the work. May 24, 2005 Re: Grounding HVAC ductwork zachatak I saw something like this and they had to put a grounding lug on each section. Bolted the lug with a bolt and nut(not a sheet metal screw). Ran a #6 through all lugs without a break in it. Normaly this type of dust collection system will have some type of information about this. Hope this will help. Jim

Jan 20, 2017 He guys my first post or question. I just installed dust collection in my shop and hear about grounding the pvc. I chose to use metal stove pipe, mainly because of cost. My building is metal with metal post into the ground. Am I correct in thinking the metal post are grounding my building and as long as I am connected to it I am grounded.
